The school was founded in 2015 by Dr. Diana Lungu who is also a teacher in the school. Diana has a Doctorate in Music Performance from the University of Michigan. The school’s curriculum and methods are based on years of experience reflecting the need for music to be taught with professionalism while ensuring that the students have fun in the process, regardless of their age and level.Testimonials

Dr. Diana Lungu
Dr. Diana Lungu has been the music director of Michigan Music Academy since January 2015, where she has also been teaching violin and viola. Besides being an educator, Diana is an active performer, she is part of the professional music duo Kaleidoscope, along with her colleague, pianist Dr. Christine Chun. Diana is also performing with various orchestras in southeast Michigan. She has served as the concertmaster of Junge Philharmonie Munchen (Germany), Las Vegas Chamber University Orchestra, Las Vegas University Symphony Orchestra and Transilvania Chamber Orchestra (Romania). As part of Gheorghe Dima Conservatory Orchestra and Transylvania State Orchestra (Cluj-Napoca) she toured Europe extensively. Diana has performed as a recitalist, chamber musician and soloist throughout United States and Europe, with recent performances in Toronto (Ontario, Canada), Michigan, Ohio, California, Germany and Romania.
Dr. Lungu is active in the community, working with her colleague Dr. Christine Chun to organize music events such as the Art For God’s Sake Festival in Troy (MI), Chamber Music Series of the Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church in Detroit, and Concert Series at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Rochester and Huron Valley Council of Arts, just to mention a few. Diana collaborates with the Department of Musical Theatre of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Besides being a classical trained musician, Diana has enjoyed performing in cross-genres productions with artists such as Jean Francois Breau, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Rod Stewart, Placido Domingo, Mannheim Steamrollers.
Diana holds a Doctorate degree in Music Performance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Masters in Music Performance from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Bachelors in Music from Gheorghe Dima Music Conservatory in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and a Michigan Teaching Certificationin Music EducationK-12with emphasis on Orchestra.
